Groundwater is the major source of potable water for residents. Of the population and geographic area of the County of Frontenac, the village of Sydenham is the only community on municipal water. All others residents are serviced by groundwater supplied from non-municipal, private systems.
Plumbing and septic
Obtaining permits for plumbing and septic (onsite sewage) systems is essential for health and safety. Improper hook-up of these systems can result in dangerous gases escaping as well as contamination of drinking water, putting you and your family's health in jeopardy.
Plumbing and septic system installations are mandatory under the Ontario Building Code. No part of an installation is to be enclosed without inspection and approval of the plumbing or onsite sewage inspector.
