Financial Services provides financial advice and guidance to Council to support their strategic vision while maintaining compliance with the Municipal Act and applicable legislation. We protect the County's financial position, minimize taxpayer risk, and are committed to good stewardship of public assets.
The role of Financial Services is to:
- Maintain the accuracy, security and integrity of the financial systems and accounts
- Develop and review financial policies with a goal of continuous improvement and efficiency
- Ensure the procurement process is transparent and provides the best value to the County
- Provide support, consultation, and stewardship of public assets to all County departments
- Coordinate the budget process in consultation with all departments to meet service delivery needs
- Manage employee benefits in collaboration with Human Resources
- Provide payroll services to approximately 400 County employees
- Apply the best practices in financial processes management
