Support Services


Fairmount Home offers healthy meals and snacks three times per day. Breakfast has a starch and protein option. We offer two meal options at lunch and supper including dessert.

Our dietician may recommend a special diet and supplements to ensure that a resident's nutritional requirements are met. The dietitian monitors each resident's progress every quarter and weights are monitored monthly.

Our nursing and housekeeping staff provide assistance with serving and feeding residents.


Meal times
  • Breakfast 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
  • Lunch 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Supper 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Our Gentlecare® program enables residents, who wish to remain in bed later, with a light breakfast after 8:45 a.m. Coffee and tea is available for residents during the day in the dining room.

Visitors may buy a meal ticket to enjoy a meal with their loved one. We also have a café in the main lobby, which offers a light lunch until 2 p.m.

We have a policy on food brought in for residents.


Housekeeping staff are on duty seven days a week. They are responsible for keeping our home clean.


Clothing is sent to the laundry department to be labelled with the resident's name. All linen and personal clothing can be laundered at our home, or family members can choose to launder their loved one's clothing. We encourage the use of wash and wear, easy to put on, clothing. Wool or cotton clothing is discouraged, as it will shrink in the industrial washing machine.


Maintenance staff are on duty seven days a week to ensure all systems function as intended.
