Fairmount Home has an Occupational Therapist (OT). The OT helps our residents to develop, recover, improve and maintain the skills they need for activities of daily living.
The OT assesses our residents' everyday tasks like eating, grooming, dressing, bathing and toileting. The OT then makes recommendations like positioning, set-up by staff, adaptive equipment and cueing. The OT's goal is to help residents to function as fully as possible and increase their independence and self-esteem.
Residents may be eligible for funding to help with the costs of new mobility aides. The OT can help in filling out applications for funding.
