Glenburnie, ON – Frontenac County Council has approved and launched a region-wide brand that unifies the municipalities, provides clarity around the entity that is Frontenac, and becomes part of the County’s renewed economic development efforts.

“This is not a traditional corporate brand,” says Frances Smith, Frontenac County Warden. “It is a tool to foster a sense of place and grow the reputation of Frontenac as a desirable place to live, visit, and do business.”

Establishing a brand that captures the essence of Frontenac was challenging. With much community and Township input, it became obvious that what makes Frontenac special is an element at its very core; diversity. The adaptable lifestyle attracts all walks of life and offers endless experiences, whatever an individual’s definition of adventure might be.

The branding package combines a logo that mirrors the landscapes, an endlessly customizable tagline, and photographs taken exclusively “In Frontenac”.

“The logo is beautiful, but it’s the tagline I’m really excited about,” says Anne Marie Young, Manager of Economic Development. “In Frontenac provides for definition while showcasing diversity. It’s perfect for social media, and customizable so people can make it their own.”

The brand builds on the three themes in the County’s Economic Development Charter – trips and trails, food and beverage, and recreational lifestyle. With modifiers such as “Farm to Fork…”, “Proudly Located... ”, and “Handcrafted…” local businesses and organizations are encouraged to use the “In Frontenac” tagline in their own marketing campaigns.

“It is win-win,” says Young, “when businesses identify themselves as being In Frontenac, the brand is strengthened, and its growth will contribute to the vitality of the region, which will in turn benefit local businesses and organizations.”

Everyone who works, lives, and plays in Frontenac is encouraged to upload their photos to social media with the hashtag #InFrontenac to immediately begin building Frontenac’s story of adventure and community.
