Frontenac Paramedics move to Woodbine Fire Station

Posted On Thursday December 19, 2019

Kingston's west-end residents can expect continued excellent paramedic services thanks to a new property lease arrangement between the City of Kingston and the County of Frontenac (responsible for overseeing Frontenac Paramedics). Frontenac Paramedics will immediately establish a paramedic base at Woodbine Road Fire Station, 905 Woodbine Rd.

“We are happy to have Frontenac Paramedics joining us at the Woodbine Fire Station. This will help ensure residents in the west-end receive fast and reliable service, when they need it most,” says Fire Chief Shawn Armstrong.

The fire station, previously occupied by Kingston Fire & Rescue’s mechanical division, was vacated earlier this year, in anticipation of such a change. Frontenac Paramedics had to relocate their west-end base, as the lease at their Justus Drive location was set to conclude at the end of the year.

Frontenac Paramedics Chief Gale Chevalier is pleased with the new location.

“We are looking forward to moving our paramedic operations in the west-end to the Woodbine Road Fire Station. This will be our first co-location with Kingston Fire & Rescue and we hope to have more opportunities in the future,” says Chevalier.

Frontenac Paramedics has seven ambulance bases and serves approximately 150,000 residents in Kingston and Frontenac County.
