Glenburnie, ON – Representatives from paramedic services across Eastern Ontario gathered in Kingston, June 9, for the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs’ (OAPC) Eastern Region Exemplary Service Awards Gala.

Three Frontenac Paramedics – Megan Wall, Michael Pasch, and Spero Betas – were honoured with The Governor General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Awards at the event. The prestigious award recognizes paramedic professionals who have performed their duties in an exemplary manner, characterized by the highest standards of good conduct, industry, and efficiency, over a period of at least 20 years.

“It’s so nice for paramedics to be able to celebrate our colleagues’ successes and achievements in person once again,” says Frontenac Paramedics Chief Gale Chevalier. “Megan, Michael, and Spero represent our profession at its very best and I’m delighted to congratulate them. Thank you all, for your hard work and dedication over the years.”

The awards were presented on behalf of Governor General Mary Simon by Canadian Armed Forces Surgeon General Major-General Marc Bilodeau, Canadian Armed Forces Chief Warrant Officer Martin Bedard, and OAPC Awards Committee Chair Michael Sanderson.

Also celebrated was retired Frontenac Paramedic Joe Ferguson, who received his 40-year bar in recognition of 40 years in service as a paramedic.
