Emergency Support Unit

ESU unitThe emergency support unit (ESU) is a specially equipped vehicle that is able to respond to large scale or multi-casualty emergency incidents. These may include multi-vehicle crashes, airport, train or bus incidents, apartment or hotel fires, or facility evacuations.

This vehicle is designed to transport bulk medical/rescue equipment and supplies to medical incidents to support emergency medical services, but does not transport patients. It contains a variety of patient care equipment and supplies, has radio communication capabilities, and is also equipped with an emergency power generator.

Having this vehicle as part of the Frontenac fleet expands our operational capacity to treat patients in large emergency medical situations and mass casualty events.
