Emergency Services
As of January 2004 the County of Frontenac is the direct delivery agent for the operation and management of Land Ambulance Services for the County of Frontenac and the City of Kingston.
Effective January 1, 1998 the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) transferred the responsibility of providing land ambulance service, or overseeing the contracts of service providers, to upper-tier municipalities (UTMs). By January 1, 2001 all of the UTMs in Ontario had assumed full responsibility for virtually all aspects of land ambulance delivery, including operations, finance and administration, policies & procedures.
We invite you to learn more about our involvement in the provision of emergency management, in accordance with the Emergency Management Act of Ontario, to support the County of Frontenac’s municipal emergency plans and to minimize the impact of natural, technological and human emergencies on the community.
