Provincial Offences

The Provincial Offences Court
Administration Office is located at 279 Wellington Street in Kingston.
The boundaries of the Court Service area for the POA office include the
geographic area of the City of Kingston and County of Frontenac.

This administration covers three types of proceedings for the prosecution and enforcement of Provincial Offences, including:

POA Part 1 – minor offences where the defendant is given a ticket called a Certificate of Offence;

POA Part II - municipal parking infractions where the defendant is given a ticket called a Parking Infraction Notice; and

POA Part III - more serious provincial and municipal By-law offences
where the defendant is given an information/summons and must attend
court.¹
