Land Use Planning

This page provides an overview of the County of Frontenac’s role in the land planning process for the Townships of North, Central and South Frontenac and the Frontenac Islands.

As of August 28, 2000 the County of Frontenac is the delegated authority for approving Land Use Planning applications for subdivisions and condominiums. The County works with a Planning Consultant to process these applications, ensuring efficient, cost-effective development and land use patterns are observed in accordance with Municipal Official Plans and Zoning By-laws and the 2005 Provincial Policy Statement. Once applications are processed we make recommendations to County Council for draft and final approval.
