Regional Attractions

North Frontenac Park Lands

Under a stewardship agreement with the Ministry of Natural
Resources, the Township of North Frontenac manages and promotes Crown
Lands including a system of roads and trails connecting 184 campsites, on 12 lakes. Information on campsites, canoe routes and maps is available at www.northfrontenacparklands.com

Big Sandy Bay Conservation Area

This 404 hectare property on Wolfe Island is classified as an
environmentally sensitive Area of Natural and Scientific Interest. Sand dunes and wetlands allow rare plant species to flourish here. Rare trees and birds deemed to be significant either provincially or
regionally are also found here. The environmental area is protected and no motorized vehicles are allowed.

Bon Echo Park

Located at the southern tip of the Canadian Shield on the shores of Mazinaw Lake, this part has pictographs, boat tours and trails to a panoramic lookout.

Open from May to October, this park offers daily programming and has 526 campsites.

Frontenac Provincial Park

This semi-wilderness park features granite outcrops, wetlands, mixed forests and many species of plants and wildlife. Hiking trails and canoe routes are found throughout the park.

Open year-round, this park offers daily programming and has 48 campsites.

Sharbot Lake Provincial Park

Straddling two lakes, Sharbot Lake and Black, this part offers first class warm-water and cold-water fishing opportunities. The park
maintains nature trails to lookouts and two sandy beaches.

Open from May to September, this park has 182 campsites.

The City of Kingston

The first capital of Canada, the City of Kingston has evolved into a vibrant city and the largest port in the world famous Thousand Island Region. Known as the Limestone City, Kingston is rich in heritage and cultural events.

Fort Henry

Ferry to Cape Vincent, New York

One of the few remaining private pedestrian/vehicle ferries between Canada and the United States operates from Cape Vincent, New York to Wolfe Island, Ontario.
