Employee Recruitment

At the County the recruitment process is a team effort driven by departmental work teams who understand their needs the best. The Human Resources Department provides advice, resources materials and acts as consultants to the recruitment teams at Fairmount Home, The Frontenac Paramedic Services and the Howe Island Ferry. We guide the teams to ensure fair employment practices are used and County hiring guidelines are followed.


Each individual department is responsible for conducting its own recruitment. Employment opportunities are advertised locally in the Kingston Whig Standard, on our own website and frequently on the HRDC website.


Please respond to specific recruitment opportunities only. Unsolicited resumes received by the human resources department will not be kept on file.


Applying for an Advertised Position


Each advertised position includes the position title, whether the position is full-time, part-time, casual, or contract and where the application should be sent. The type of work, qualifications, skills, and level of experience will also be included in the posting. Resumes and a covering letter should be accompanied by a County job application form available for download from this site or from the County’s administration office on Battersea Road.
